C Bechstein 118 Contur Upright Piano

The C Bechstein 118 Contur upright piano is a fantastic quality professional standard instrument from the same series as the world renowned C Bechstein Concert 8 which is widely regarded by many critics as the best upright that money can buy. The 118 Contur shares many of the same components and top shelf workmanship, but is significantly smaller and much more manageable in terms of size, so is ideal for smaller spaces.

Painstakingly handcrafted over a period of many months by the highly skilled artisans of the famous C Bechstein factory in Germany, the leading company in the C Bechstein family, the C Bechstein 118 is ideal for pianists of all levels, from the ambitious beginner who simply wants the best and a piano to grow into, all the way up to the professional player who requires a compact instrument due to space limitations.

This “Contur” model features rounded edges and an elegant traditional design, and is constructed with many of the same principles as C Bechstein’s concert grand pianos, which are often regarded as some of the best instruments in the world. The 118 is constructed, regulated and toned by the same same highly skilled team in the premium section of the C Bechstein’s Seifennersdorf factory, which gives the instrument a sense of effortlessness that will inspire all who play it, regardless of experience.

This piano is also available (at additional cost) with C Bechstein’s factory fitted “Vario” silent play system which can be added to this, or indeed any other W Hoffman piano during the initial construction process. This innovative and highly regarded technology enables the use of headphones for noiseless playing, and mutes the strings in favour of high quality digital sampled sounds whilst still using the genuine acoustic action for a realistic playing feel.

The 118 is available in a wide variety of different high gloss and satin finishes and colours, including black, white, walnut, cherry, vavona, and burl walnut, as well as a range of stunning and unique special finishes such as intarsia inlay.
