A rare treat! Here we have a lovely Yamaha model, a YUX, often referred to as the ‘Super U3’.
The modern equivalent is known as the YUS3, and is essentially a custom Yamaha U3 with some higher end additions and design changes to get more out of it’s size.
The ‘X’ in the name refers to the bracing behind the piano, shaped like an X instead of the standard 3 post bracing, which is intended to give the piano more stability to enhance the pianos resonance and power.
This is also helped by the higher grade hammers, strings and cabinet holes at the front to allow the piano to sing and resonate more.
An excellent piano that will be sure to satisfy all types of players, will particularly appeal to those who enjoy the clean Yamaha tone that yearn for more of the good stuff.
