Fridolin Schimmel F121
The Fridolin Shimmel F121 is part of the the brand new and extremely impressive “Fridolin” range by the well known and highly respected Schimmel piano company. In a similar vein to Steinway’s “Essex” line and Bechstein’s “Zimmermann” range, the instrument is designed in Germany and assembled in China by the Pearl River piano factory before being finished off back in the Schimmel factory in Braunschweig, Germany. This allows for a highly affordable new piano to be produced that still has the excellent design, high quality components and the familiar sound of a Schimmel piano.
As opposed to many other manufacturers, who at this price level choose to go for a more bright and strident tone, the Fridolin Schimmel F121 has a distinctly soft and silky sound, which is much more akin to that of an older style European piano, whilst still managing to retain all the power and fluid playability from the action of a modern twenty first century insturment. This all adds up to make the Fridolin 121 a very impressive instrument indeed for the price, and something that is well worth considering as a good alternative to the new Yamaha B3 or reconditioned U1 pianos, which are also located in a similar price range.
The pictured example of the Fridolin Schimmel F121T is finished in a very attractive gloss black casework with brass fittings. However, the instrument can also be specified with chrome fittings at no additional cost.
As with most Schimmel upright and grand pianos, the F121 is available to order in a wide variety of different finishes and colours, including gloss black, gloss white as well as various gloss and satin wood finishes such as walnut and mahogany.
